IGNITION at European Maritime Day

IGNITION project was present at this year’s European Maritime Day (EMD) conference held in Brest, France, on 24th and 25th May. Against the backdrop of growing global demand for high-quality animal protein and increasing concerns about environmental sustainability, IGNITION aims to lead the way in developing innovative, non-invasive tools to improve animal health and well-being on the aquaculture sector.

The two-day EMD conference attracted a diverse range of experts, stakeholders, and industry leaders from across Europe and beyond. Amongst the high-level plenary sessions, inspiring speaker engagements, and stakeholder workshops, Lourenço Pinto from CIIMAR represented IGNITION and was able to network with attendees showcasing the project’s pioneering work in addressing the pressing issues facing the aquaculture sector

As the conference concluded, we firmly believe that IGNITION project inspired a renewed dedication to the pursuit of sustainable practices and increased animal welfare in aquaculture. With its groundbreaking initiatives and visionary outlook, IGNITION stands at the forefront of positive change, charting a course towards a future where animal welfare and environmental sustainability are at the core of the aquaculture industry.
