IGNITION will be featured in the next EAStalk webinar organised by the European Aquaculture Society, focusing on how novel non-invasive biomarkers and biosensor-based technologies can support fish health monitoring in aquaculture.
As aquaculture faces growing pressure from rising demand, climate change, and the need to improve animal welfare, smarter, and less invasive monitoring tools are becoming increasingly important. This session will explore how IGNITION research is contributing to this challenge by advancing new approaches for real-time fish health surveillance in key aquaculture species, including European seabass, Atlantic salmon, and rainbow trout.
Researchers from the IGNITION partners SPAROS, Riasearch, and Tyndall National Institute will present insights on the use of multiomics technologies and non-invasive biomarker strategies, and electrochemical biosensor development and sustainable diagnostic methods as promising tools to assess fish health without relying on invasive sampling.
This session builds on previous IGNITION-related EAStalk webinars, which have presented the project’s broader work on aquaculture health and welfare, and on biomarker discovery, genetic responses, and electrochemical sensor development. Previous webinars can be accessed here and here.
The webinar will take place on Tuesday, 9 June, at 14:00 Brussels time.
Participation is free, but registration is mandatory. Don’t lose the opportunity to learn more about IGNITION’s tools! Register here.
