At the end of December all roads lead to Matosinhos, in Portugal, for the official start of the IGNITION project.
The meeting brought together Work Package leaders, partners, and stakeholders to discuss the project’s work plan and all upcoming deliverables, align partners’ synergies and review the next steps of the project.
IGNITION is an ambitious 4-year Horizon Europe project aiming at advance animal welfare and resilience in the context of climate change. The goal is to find new tools to mitigate the disruptive impacts of the long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns on aquatic animal species.
Research organisations from several European countries are pooling efforts to transform farmed animal’s welfare within the aquaculture sector.
