Early this week, on March 10, during the Animal Welfare session of AQUACULTURE 2025 held in New Orleans, USA, IGNITION project showcased its innovative and non-invasive technology for monitoring animal welfare.
Ana Visković, representing the project partner EAS, delivered the talk “IGNITION: Improving Green Innovation for the Blue Revolution – New Tools and Opportunities for a More Sustainable Animal Farming” in the Animal Welfare session on March 10, highlighting the value of novel biosensors used as skin patches or floating eggs. These are not only designed to minimize fish handling while monitoring their health and welfare, but also to provide real-time, prolonged monitoring, supporting a data-driven approach to improving aquaculture sustainability.
